a few & unlimited studio delights!

Sitting here finishing up some holiday card & print orders, I realize that there isn’t any other place I’d rather be today.  Some unlucky people are stuck working in stuffy offices or maneuvering through congested highways on the day before Thanksgiving. Other, more lucky souls have begun filling their kitchens with delicious smells & goodies, while others are enjoying the day off surrounded by their loved ones.  Regardless, I’m happy where I am, and can’t think of a place I’d rather be.

As if having my photography studio three doors down from my home wasn’t great enough, my workspace is cozy & cute too!  I’m lucky to have giant windows in the front of the studio that fill it with beautiful natural light and a warm fireplace to keep my toes from freezing right off!  I’ve chosen some of my very favorite pictures to hang on the walls, so when I look up from my iMac, I cannot help but smile at the dogs, kids and couples looking back at me.  This studio, in my eyes, is perfect for me, and for that I am extremely grateful.

In honor of tomorrow’s celebration of giving thanks, I thought I would share a few pictures of the things in my studio for which I am truly thankful.  Enjoy!

Tulips & ampersands.  I always try to have some fresh flowers in the studio, as they always seem to brighten my day!  I bought some beautiful orange tulips at Whole Foods yesterday and couldn’t be enjoying them more!  From where I’m sitting at my desk right now, I see five ampersands…. I’m pretty sure there are at least three more that I cannot see!

My mousepad, mug & duaflex camera.  Company C was one of the first stores I visited in Portland’s Old Port before we moved here last summer.  I immediately fell in love with all of the fun designs and bright colors.  We’ve since bought rugs, pillows and throws from the shop to brighten up our house.  When I saw their mousepads selection this summer, I knew I would never be happy with anything else on my desk.  And who couldn’t love a mug that is called “The Potbelly?”  My & unlimited mugs are some of my very favorite branding pieces and I cannot imagine sipping my tea from anything else!  Michael’s father gave this Kodak Duaflex camera to give to me when we first started dating in college.  Since opening the studio, it has retained a prominent position on the studio’s mantle.

My door desk.  This desk has been featured on all kinds of blogs and websites from Planet Green to Lifehacker to The Inspired Room to Apartment Therapy.  It’s hard for me to grasp that hundreds of thousands of people across the world have seen my very own desk online.  Craziness!

My studio-mate, Orvis.  Who else would I rather have sitting in my window watching the hustle & bustle of Willard Square than my dog, Orvis?  He spends his days chewing on Planet Dog toys and then gets cozy on a Molly Mutt bed.

Orvis
