stranded in palm beach?
After photographing an absolutely lovely & heart-warming wedding on Saturday in Palm Beach, I returned to my hotel to check-in online for my early morning flight back home to Maine only to find out that my flight had been cancelled. After waiting nearly an hour to speak with a customer service representative, I was kindly informed that it was impossible for me to make it to anywhere in New England from any airport in southern Florida on Sunday. I would have to wait until Monday, and even then I would have to leave from Ft. Lauderdale, fly to Boston and take the shuttle back up to Maine. Phew!
Once I was done moping around and feeling sorry for myself that I wouldn’t get to see Michael & Orvis on Sunday like I had planned, I decided to make the best of being “stranded” in Palm Beach, Florida. Can you really consider yourself stranded in a sunny, beautiful palm tree-filled paradise? No way- not when it was 40 degrees and raining at home!
I spent most of the day walking around Palm Beach & West Palm Beach with my camera, soaking up the sun. And eating ice cream, of course! I drove around with the windows of my rented Prius down, enjoying the refreshing breeze.
Yep. I’m pretty sure my cancelled flight was a blessing. A blessing that came with a tiny bit of a pre-spring tan. And ice cream.
And two of my newfound favorite places from my Sunday stroll. Sloan’s Ice Cream. I may have visited Sloan’s twice during my stay in Palm Beach. Mmmm… and this beautiful little church in West Palm- what photographer wouldn’t want to shoot a ceremony here? Plus it’s right around the corner from Sloan’s!
I’m off to Boston for a meeting today, but I promise to post photos from Emily & Jay’s wedding weekend oh so soon!

So pretty! And I’m super jealous that you were stranded someplace so lovely, while I was stuck in boston trying to get out!
Why don’t I ever get stranded in Palm Beach!!??
Awesome shots! Cannot wait to see the wedding photos!
This is awesome! I love the sunny, bright Florida colors of this post! Can’t wait to see shots from the wedding!
Wow – such beautiful & colorful images!! Glad you had a good time being stranded. :)
These make me want warm & sunny weather! They make me want to take a vacation- good job in making me want to see more!
