peonies through a new lens!

It’s still quite hard for me to believe that Michael & I are homeowners, or more importantly, homeowners that have peony bushes in their backyard! Oh, yes.  These lovelies did not come from Whole Foods or even the farmer’s market . . . they came all the way from the pink peony bush right next to our patio.  Our pink peony bush.  Pinch me, please!  I am actually so in love with these peonies of ours, that I picked out another bush this past weekend during our stop at the local garden center.  One of my favorite things about our garden is that it is full of perennials that bloom at all different times of the season.  That means there will soon be hydrangeas & lilies gracing our kitchen table.  Oh, yes.  This whole homeowner-with-a-garden bit is quite fun.

Peonies

And since we’re on the subject of owning one’s first home… thanks to the delightful tax credit, I was able to buy this lens- the 50 1.2!  Oh, how this lens will come in handy at this week’s engagement session in D.C. and this weekend’s wedding in North Carolina.  And every other shoot thereafter!

50 1.2

  • Jenny Tenney thinks:

Congrats on the new home! My boyfriend bought a home less than a year ago, and it’s wonderful having space for a garden. We just got a bunch of flowers in the ground around the mailbox last weekend, and it’s funny how exciting it was and how proud we were of our tiny little garden accomplishment. Peonies are so pretty. I have been keeping my eye on them at the garden shop; those and hydrangeas. Enjoy the 50mm 1.2!
