national dog day!
The Bark, one of the best magazines for dog lovers, announced on Twitter earlier this week that today, Thursday August 26th, is National Dog Day! I knew when I read it that I had to 1.) do something super special for Orvis and 2.) post something dog-related on the blog in honor of the occasion. To celebrate with Orvis, I’m planning on taking him for a hike on our favorite trail in Cape Elizabeth this afternoon, and to celebrate on the blog, I decided to make the short little video below.
At this past weekend’s wedding, the couple had one of their cousins read the most darling poem I’ve ever heard at a wedding, “Falling in Love is Like Owning a Dog” by Taylor Mali. Of course, I fell in love with it, and thought it might be fun to interlace the words of the poem with a few of my images. The song is one of my favorite Dan in Real Life scores by Sondre Lerche.

Love that poem! I ran across it when we were wedding planning and used it in our programs along with a picture of the three of us. So perfect. Happy National Dog Day to Orvis!
