magazine monday: martha’s panzanella!
When the June issue of Martha Stewart Living arrived at our house a month ago, I remember flipping through the magazine and having my internal Magazine Monday alert go off every five pages or so. Ideas for floral arranging & party decor, and delicious recipes for fruity tarts, ice cream, summer feasts, and hamburgers (which I usually don’t even eat!) all caught my eye. Ah, yes. The Magazine Monday possibilities in this issue were seemingly unlimited.
Fast forward to this weekend as I made plans with my dear friend, Alex, her boyfriend, and their dog, Emma, to come over for dinner on Sunday evening, as they were driving down to Boston from her brother’s home in Stockton Springs. The plan was to have a nice meal on the back patio, underneath our new lights, while the dogs played in the yard. Alex mentioned that she had been craving panzanella ever since she came back from photographing a wedding in Tuscany earlier this spring, and that internal Magazine Monday alert of mine immediately went off again. Panzanella. Page 132. Martha. June issue. (Okay, so, I might not have known the exact page of the recipe for panzanella, but just go with me . . .)

Bread, tomatoes, basil, olive oil, vinegar, salt, and pepper. That’s it. That’s all it takes to make this delicious, heavenly, Italian meal! Michael & I may or may not already be planning when we’ll make this feast next. It’s that good.

And our two panzanella-loving sidekicks for the evening, Emma & Orvis!

Happy Magazine Monday!

Awe yay! I’m so glad you guys were able to meet up for the evening – and the dogs! Looks like some scrumptious eating!
That looks so delish. You shouldn’t be allowed to publish food related magazine mondays before lunch time – it just made me SO hungry!
Wow that looks SO GOOD!! Jon and I will have to try that!
We had Panzanella Saturday night! Love it!
Oh that looks yummy! Perhaps I will pick up the goodies for it at the farmers Market this weekend….
