maine magazine!

On Friday evening after a long day in the studio, I came home and was in the mood to do nothing more than warm up and relax.  Once I had my cup of raspberry tulsi tea warming my hands, I picked up a magazine from the ever-growing stack of unreads on our side table, and made myself comfortable on the couch.  Ever since it’s debut last fall, Maine Magazine has been a personal favorite.  The content, the design, the layout, the typography, the paper — everything about this magazine is top-notch.  Seriously.

When I came to the latest 48 Hours In… feature on page 32, I was delighted to see that South Portland was this month’s featured town.  After I spotted my neighborhood, Willard Square, on the map of South Portland, illustrated by Karen Gelardi, I checked the map’s legend to see what other business they featured on our street besides Scratch Baking Co., never once thinking that it could be my own… but there it was in print,  as #17: & unlimited photography & my neighbors, Willard Scoops! The excitement was almost too much to bear… but then I found another mention of & unlimited on page 33, as part of the Saturday morning itinerary for a visit to South Portland.

The feature is certainly near and dear to my heart.  Not only is my studio surrounded by all of the wonderful businesses and beautiful sights mentioned in the article, but my home is just down the street.  I quite literally live, eat (at Scratch & Scoops!), and breathe South Portland.

I’m thrilled that South Portland is featured in this month’s Maine Magazine. Hopefully more people will come to share the South Portland experience with me to see why I’m so thankful to be able to call South Portland home!

Thanks, Maine Magazine- I feel like I’ve been grinning ever since reading it last Friday!
