magazine monday: rachael ray’s let it snow!
I received my December/January issue of Everyday with Rachael Ray sometime back in November and knew immediately when I started reading the article, Let it Snow (page 28), that some variation of it would end up on my blog as a Magazine Monday with Meredith post. Having spent the first week of December in Hawaii, when the first bit of snow fell, and the following two weeks in North Carolina, when a little more snow continued to fall, I was overwhelmed with excitement and anticipation for my first snow of the season. My wish for a wintery wonderland was granted over this long, holiday weekend, as the snow started to fall on New Year’s Eve… and continued to do so until yesterday!
Michael, Orvis and I spent the first snow-filled weekend of the year together, frolicking in the freshly fallen snow & cozying up on the couch. We watched the third, fourth, fifth and (wow!) sixth Harry Potter films. We sipped hot tea and made Lake Champlain Hot Chocolate, with bits of Andes Mints (mmm!) melted inside. We ate the most comforting of comfort foods- mac & cheese, grilled cheese and chili. We read books and magazines. We made goals for the new year and laughed about our funniest memories of the last. We baked cookies, and an apple pie. We had snowball fights and built a mini-snowman. We snow-wrestled with our dog and made snow angels.

Wow! I just cannot think of a better way to kick off 2010! Thank you, thank you, snow.
Happy New Year, Meredith!! Love these images. Your house is SO cute!!! Looks like Orvis loves the snow – fun times. :)
It sounds like you had a wonderful cozy weekend! I miss the snowy winters in Maine.
That top center picture of Orvis is SO cute!
Love your little snowman and the picture of Orvis with his face buried in the snow is a hoot!
I want to BE there!
