magazine monday: perfect blueberry syrup

A few weeks ago I was standing at the checkout line at Whole Foods and I spotted the August issue of Food & Wine, one of the magazines to which I do not subscribe.  The cover photograph was heavenly and made me literally want to hop inside the photo.  I picked it up without even flipping through it and added it to our weekly purchases.  I couldn’t wait to sit down and absorb everything inside!

Michael & I have already made one of the pasta recipes in the issue and it was delightful, but for today’s Magazine Monday I wanted to share the Perfect Blueberry Syrup recipe.  The article suggests using the syrup as a glaze for ribs or grilled duck, or blended into smoothies, yogurt, or rice pudding, but seeing that we basically live for all things ice cream, Michael & I decided to top off our Gifford’s vanilla ice cream with the syrup.  And it was absolutely lovely!

Food & Wine’s Perfect Blueberry Syrup recipe can be found HERE.  Enjoy!

We added more fresh wild Maine blueberries to the top.  Yum!
