isle of springs: elise and shane!
I spotted groom-to-be, Shane, in a Boston Whaler on Monday evening, speeding across the water between Isle of Springs and the Sawyer’s Island dock, and wanted to pinch myself. Never have I had the opportunity to arrive at any of my shoots by boat- this was just too much fun! Once Shane & I officially set foot on the quaint, magical Isle of Springs, we walked up the hill to Elise’s family’s 18th century farmhouse- one of the first houses built on the island. Words just cannot describe how elated I was to be there. Just as Elise’s mother had described during our first meeting – the smells, the light, the sounds, the colors – everything really was magical.
Elise & Shane have known each other for years, although most of those years they were not known as “Elise & Shane.” They went to the same high school, had similar groups of friends, and even played on the same co-ed kid’s soccer team together when they were little, all before they started dating a couple of years ago. Next summer Elise & Shane will be married at Northport’s Point Lookout, and couldn’t be more excited!

Their clothes, the setting, the two of them- everything seemed so Maine or even so L.L. Bean to me!

The Isle of Springs dock is just as charming & cute as can be!

And then one of the best parts of the night- Elise & Shane took me on a tour of the island by whaler. Cute couple, gorgeous night, a beautiful island, and a boat- it was beyond perfect!

So sweet!

I had such a wonderful evening with these two, and I’m pretty sure I thanked them & Elise’s grandparents fifteen times too many for having me out to the island that evening. It was just that awesome!
And guess what? There will soon be more Isle of Springs loveliness on the blog- I’m heading up there again next weekend for a super special wedding. (And yes, I’ll be arriving by boat again then too!) What perfect & serendipitous timing that I was able to go and have a tour of the island a couple weeks before second shooting a wedding there.
beautiful!
Meredith, your work is just amazing. What a joy to view these and ALL your photos.
Absolutely lovely pictures! These guys look like such an adorable, happy couple – I don’t know you, Elise and Shane, but congrats!
Wow that last one is a portfolio piece! It is so reminiscent of photos from the classic Kennedy era, Ralph Lauren advertising, etc. A truly perfect photo… well done!
