wishing you the happiest 2010!

As 2009 has wrapped up, and most of the attention begins to turn to 2010, I took the chance to look back on what has been a truly exciting and adventurous year in my life.  It was a year of firsts for me.  It was my first full year out of college.  It was also my first year living in Maine, far from anything I’d ever known in North Carolina, with Michael & Orvis.  And let’s not forget, 2009 was the year I started my photography business and opened a studio in my favorite neighborhood in the greater Portland area.

Almost a year ago, I decided to give-up the other work I was doing in PR and follow the dream I’d had since I was very young.  I became a full-time, professional photographer.  It was a scary undertaking, no doubt, but looking back, I cannot imagine having decided anything else.  With the blessing of an unbelievable amount of support from friends, family, and my new clients, I was able to build a business doing what I love – photographing couples, dogs, and families.

It’s hard to imagine that an entire year has gone by.  I’ve been so very lucky to travel to a number of exciting places and meet a multitude of wonderful people and pets, all while following my dream.  I owe every bit of this happiness and growth to those that have supported me in the past year, and for this, I will always be thankful.
