the first look: keri and paul!

Being a part of Keri & Paul’s First Look at The Cotton Room literally gave me goosebumps.  Actually, just thinking about Paul’s reaction to seeing Keri for the first time on their wedding day is giving me goosebumps again.  I’m positive that moment will always stay with me.

Keri & Paul were so psyched about their decision to see each other before the ceremony, I thought having them share a few thoughts about their experience with the First Look would be perfect for this blog post!

From Keri: “I think the First Look was one of the best decisions we made during our wedding planning.  I was a bit unsure of this idea at first, but after reading several blogs Meredith sent to us I felt very happy about the idea.  The thought of  creating an intimate, private moment between Paul and me before we got swept up in the excitement of the ceremony & reception really appealed to me.  Additionally, we had much more time to visit with our guests and enjoy our reception immediately following the wedding ceremony.  Though the First Look may seem like a tiny break from tradition, it creates more chances for tender, genuine moments with your husband-to-be and memorable experiences with your friends and family.”

From Paul: At first, Keri and I planned on keeping with tradition and waiting until the ceremony to see other, but we ended up doing the “First Look,” and are so glad we did. It allowed us to spend more time with family and friends right after the ceremony, and turned out to be a really special, private moment we’ll always remember. What surprised me the most is how it completely relaxed me and helped me take in every moment after that (of course, I went bananas when I first saw Keri, but I eventually settled down…well, until the first notes of “Love Shack” came through the speakers. Then I went bananas again).

I’m slightly obsessed with this one.

These two were just giddy about being with each other, which made for some pretty adorable pictures.

We ducked inside the LabourLove Art Gallery for a few photos.  As it turns out, one of the prints in our kitchen, a gift from my mother, came from this very gallery!
