family portraits in jefferson, maine!
Michael & I have lived in Maine for over two years now, but still, so much of our life in New England seems so new. I think being a photographer allows me to experience so many new places at even greater rate. If I wasn’t lucky enough to be invited to all of these new places frequently to document all of life’s unlimited connections, I might not have ever discovered the beautiful, little gem that is Jefferson, Maine. I’ve been up and down the coast between here & Camden dozens of times since moving up to Maine, but never have I ventured just slightly west to the beautiful, rural area surrounding Jefferson. Having scheduled our shoot with the Ware family for early in the morning, I was able to drive through some of the most beautiful country roads, most of them lake-side, just after sunrise, on my way to photograph this incredibly cute family.
Meet Neily.
And William.
Is it weird that I kind of want Neily’s boots? Scratch that, I think I want her whole outfit!
I have about a dozen of these photos of Will & Neily with their grandparent’s dog, Kaya, and I am seriously in love with all of them.
Such a cute, happy family!
Thank you so much, you guys, for such a wonderful laughter-filled morning! When the time came to say goodbye, my feelings mimicked William’s- I didn’t want me to go either! Please come back down to Portland on your way home from Jefferson sometime and we’ll all have some ice cream (and lemonade!) from the ice cream shop next to the studio!

What absolutely gorgeous shots, Meredith!!
What an adorable family!! I have to agree, I am in love with the dog pictures you shared recently, but I also love the giggly shot on the swing. I grew up in Jefferson, it is a gorgeous spot! My family will be lounging in the lake on Sunday enjoying some of that beauty!
cutest ever in the red shake window picture.
i do not know these children…but i wish i would’ve had some pics like that of my children when they were this age!
good capture!
These kids are just precious! Great shots, Mere!
