I’m oh so happy to share that Jayme & Jeff’s beautiful fall wedding at the Barn on Walnut Hill is featured on the Martha Stewart Weddings site today! Jayme & Jeff’s wedding celebration was truly extraordinary and included a team of vendors with whom I was honored to work. Click here to see the featured highlights of their day on the MSW site!

Salt House Inn in Condé Nast Traveler!

Since starting Map & Menu with Michael just over two years ago, quite a few opportunities have presented themselves. It’s not easy maintaining a site with so much original content, but doing so has certainly been worth it. The people we meet and the connections we make are so important to us, both on a personal & professional level. One such relationship we established in the last year was with the owners of the darling Salt House Inn. We absolutely loved our experience at this Provincetown property and came home raving about it both on Map & Menu and amongst our friends. Naturally, I was thrilled to hear from the owners this winter about them using some of the photos I took from our stay on their website, and when I heard from an editor at Condé Nast Traveler about featuring one of the images in their Hot List issue, I was overjoyed with excitement!

If you’re in need of a Cape Cod/beach getaway this summer or fall, look no further than the Salt House Inn – I promise you’ll love it!

domino magazine!

I’m both excited and honored to have a few images I took for Furbish Studio in the latest issue of domino! Last summer before the magazine officially announced its return in the fall, Jessica, my friend at Furbish, told me two bits of amazing news. First, dominoeveryone’s favorite shelter magazine that folded in 2009 – was returning (!) and second, some of my photos of a Furbish project we all adored would be appearing in the spring issue. I was sworn to secrecy,  as no one was supposed to know that domino was relaunching, and somehow I made it to the fall without telling my mother or my sister.

If you haven’t picked up a copy of the spring issue, be sure to do so! I’d like to think I’m not too biased, but it truly is a great issue with so much inspiration. A special thanks to Jamie + Jessica at Furbish for inviting me to be a part of one of the best photo shoots yet! Check out Jamie’s blog (if you aren’t reading it already!) for more photos from this teen bedroom.

Design*Sponge for Furbish Studio!

Design*Sponge was one of the very first blogs I started reading on a regular basis shortly after we moved to Maine over five years ago. It quickly became one of the sites I looked forward to checking daily and when I became addicted to Google Reader (RIP) it was naturally one of the first blogs I added to my subscriptions. My love for Design*Sponge must have been evident to my family, as one Christmas holiday both my mother and my sister gifted me the Design*Sponge at Home book!

Having my photos appear on D*S was high on the list of goals I made once I decided to start branching out from shooting weddings only. And wouldn’t you know, I was able to check that goal off this week – another shoot with Furbish Studio appeared on Design*Sponge on Monday and I couldn’t have been happier about it. Jamie’s assistant, Keila, and her husband live in one of the most vibrant, beautifully unique homes I’ve ever visited. Take a peek at the post here.

matchbook magazine for furbish studio!

I’ve read every single issue of Matchbook Magazine since its debut in 2011, so I was particularly excited to see some images I shot for Furbish Studio appear in the December issue! I had the opportunity to collaborate with Jamie & Jessica a few times in 2013 and look forward to sharing even more of the work I’ve done for them in the coming months. Photographing their design work is an absolute dream of an assignment, and I always come home with ideas and inspiration for my own home… but let’s be honest, I really just need Jamie & Jessica to take a trip to Maine and redecorate our house themselves.

new site!

Hooray! Michael and I launched an updated portfolio site yesterday, complete with wedding images from the past five (!) years and a new editorial section devoted to my food & travel work. Starting Map & Menu two years ago has led to a variety of photographic opportunities and I couldn’t be happier about adding these images to my portfolio. Have a look around at the new site and be sure to come back soon – I have a lot of new work, a number of weddings, and some press features to share!

And thank you all for the sweet comments you left on Facebook last night  – your support means the world to me!

maine magazine weddings issue

I was beside myself with excitement when I heard from Kate, the art director at Maine Magazine, that the 2013 wedding issue would include two weddings I’d photographed! Having a wedding published in this special issue of Maine Magazine was a longtime goal of mine, so the fact that they chose two to share was especially exciting. You may read the interviews and see the photos online for 21 Maine weddings, including Allie & Josh’s wedding in Lincolnville and Sarah & Johnny’s Biddeford Pool wedding!

romantic homes magazine!

We love our dining room table. (If you’ve ever eaten dinner with us, you probably know this, as Michael compulsively forces coasters upon you.) Saer of Huston & Company (whose wedding I photographed in 2010) did the most beautiful job with the design and execution of our custom table. Whenever we see images of it pop up online or in magazines, it always makes our day. When Meagan of Maine Seasons Events contacted me about setting up a shoot for an issue of Romantic Homes this summer and was looking for a space where we could shoot, I naturally suggested  that we use our dining room table.

This also happens to be the first time (outside of advertisements) that my non-wedding photos have appeared in a national magazine! A special thanks to Meagan for making this shoot happen – would you believe she set this gorgeous table in a matter of 15 minutes? I wish she was around to set our table before dinner every evening!

Map & Menu!

Things have been a little quiet on the blog over the past couple of weeks, but I have some fun posts lined up over the next week or two, including photos from my first 2012 wedding- Lindsay & Cory in Chapel Hill!

As for the lack of posts, I have a wonderful excuse, and I am now able to share it with you all! Michael & I have been busy bees working on something we began brainstorming back in January – a lifestyle food & travel site documenting some of our favorite trips, meals, and discoveries along the way – Map & Menu!

Map & Menu Blog

Map & Menu couldn’t be a more perfect collaboration between Michael & myself. Combining our shared love for food and experiencing new places together, plus his super web development talents & my photographs, the blog will be an excellent creative outlet for the two of us to work on together. I’m beside myself with excitement just thinking about the future of this endeavor.

Map & Menu

In honor of today’s launch, we’re hosting a fun giveaway, so be sure to check that out HERE. If you have some time, be sure to click around the site for a bit. The map houses each of the points we’ve chosen to share from our adventures. I’m looking forward to being able to visually track where we go on our travels as we continue to fill in the map.

Map & Menu MAP

Of course, it wouldn’t be a true ‘Meredith & Michael’ project if we didn’t somehow incorporate our dog, Orvis, in a pretty significant way. We’ve therefore dedicated a whole section of the site to our travels with Orvis, our favorite road trip companion. The dog friendly inns and activities that we’ll highlight on the blog certainly meet (and exceed!) his ever-growing high standards.

We hope you enjoy Map & Menu, and are able to use it as a resource when planning trips, evenings out, or random excursions in the future. Check back often as we have some great posts waiting in the queue!

inkspot crow films

Remember these two?  (And their adorable dog?)  They have had quite a busy few months since their July wedding, and this past weekend they launched the website of their new business, Inkspot Crow Films: Documentaries About Love.  My feet are still tapping to the beat of the Marvin Gaye song featured in their latest wedding highlights video.

Inkspot Crow Films

From the Inkspot website: “Our films are artful ‘documentaries’ of your event, milestone, or life together. We want to know what makes your story genuine, and then share it with the world.”

Click HERE to see some of their latest work!  The logo, the website, the films- everything looks so great, and I’m so excited for MacKenzie & Philip.  Plus, I’ll get to work alongside them in just a few months at Paige & Nick’s wedding in Chapel Hill.  What fun!
