Last month I had the chance to shoot a few rooms in a lovely Cape Elizabeth home designed by Bronwyn Huffard of Huffard House Interior Design. Bronwyn was recognized in the latest issue of Maine Home + Design for her work on the redesign of the boys room pictured below. And just for fun – a few more photos of the other beautiful rooms Bronwyn designed for this family!
The latest issue of Down East just came out and I’m so excited to see the feature of this unique, lovely home I shot back in December. I love that Judy & Mark think of their home as an art project – I think their caring, thoughtful attention to detail shows throughout every room of this beautiful farmhouse.
We recently shared our Best of 2015 Hotels on Map & Menu – one of my favorites posts to write year after year. 2015 introduced us to some fantastic new hotels like the Quirk Hotel, Eben House, and the White Hart Inn. We also had a chance to revisit our beloved Montpelier Plantation in Nevis, Hotel Fauchere in Pennsylvania, and the Woodstock Inn. Through Map & Menu, we were also able to finally experience places we’ve had our eyes on for awhile like The Pitcher Inn in Vermont and the 404 Hotel in Nashville.
Here’s to hoping that 2016 is filled with just as many stays at lovely, thoughtfully-designed hotels and inns!
The morning light that was shining through the bedroom I was shooting last week at a lovely home on Pond Cove in Cape Elizabeth was simply gorgeous. More from this shoot I did with Huffard House to come soon!
This past fall I spent some time in Hudson, New York shooting some projects for the talented Michael J. Harris. We spent one of our days photographing his own beautifully decorated home right in the center of Hudson, that happens to be right next to two of our dearest friends. I had such a wonderful time working alongside Michael, shooting his design work and the window treatments he creates himself. If you’re ever find yourself in Hudson, a stop at LICK – the ice cream store he owns and operates with his husband – is an absolute must.

The following images feature of the work of Robert Hoven, a colleague of Michael’s who hired him to make his window treatments. Shooting a few rooms in this historic Catskill property was also a treat!
I recently realized that I never got around to sharing two of the very first projects I shot for Jamie & Jessica at Furbish. These beautiful rooms in two different Raleigh homes were shot the same day we photographed the teenage bedroom for Domino. It’s always so much fun working with this talented team of designers who aren’t afraid to mix bright colors and bold patterns. See more about each project on Jamie’s blog here, here, and here.
