orvis on polaroid.

I spontaneously picked up a Polaroid Spectra yesterday while I was running errands in the Old Port, and I was beside myself with excitement as I began to experiment with it! Of course, Orvis is always my favorite subject, so I decided to begin my foray into instant film with him.

I’m having way too much fun with my Spectra, and I’ve decided that the photos are basically physical versions of the images I take using my favorite iPhone app, Instagram. Since I’m a polaroid newbie, does anyone have any tips for me?

Yesterday Michael & I ran with Orvis in the second annual Bayside Trail 5K- where dog owners are encouraged to bring their furry friends along for the run! We had so much fun at last year’s race, that running it again this year was a no-brainer for us. As a follow up to last year’s post-race and post-run videos, we wanted to catch Orvis in his pre-race routine on Sunday morning. Enjoy!

In the last few days, I’ve photographed three engagement sessions and two of them have included dogs! I’ll be sharing photos from the shoots in a couple of weeks, but for now, meet a few of my new friends: Josie & Kenan, the cute sister & brother from Durham, NC, and Brody, a little beabull puppy from Brighton, MA. Aren’t they the sweetest?

As I was wrapping up a conversation on the phone with one of my super sweet brides just now, I had to laugh when she told me to post some more photos of Orvis on my blog soon! Owning a black lab herself, she particularly loves when I share a photo or two of our crazy dog. Knowing that there are plenty of other Orvis fans out there, I thought I’d take her advice.

This is a recent photo of Orvis I took to use up some film after Molly & Nir’s wedding. I simply cannot get enough of his amber-colored eyes here.

Darcy, one of our favorite friends in Maine, celebrated her birthday yesterday! In anticipation of the big day, I scheduled a “secret” photo shoot with her two favorites boys: Hughie & Enzo. (I’ve photographed Enzo at least a dozen times before, but I hadn’t had the chance to take Hughie’s photos since he was adopted by Darcy & Carolyn back in April.) The following are a few of my favorite photos I had printed for Darcy’s birthday. It was so much fun to watch her open them!

I was so excited to meet these two, Hannah & Lily, for a few photos last week at Fisherman’s Park & Willard Beach. Hannah’s parents brought her from Connecticut up to their home state of Maine so she could have photos taken with her “aunt” Lily. It was the perfect summer evening to play with the two spunky, cute golden retrievers!

Meet our newest neighbor in Willard Square: Haddie the puppy! Our friend and across-the-street neighbor, Brandy, adopted her just a few weeks ago. Isn’t she the fluffiest puppy? Whenever we see her out in the front yard we literally run right over to say hi.

When Michael & I came over for her photo shoot, she was just finishing up drying from a bath. Apparently the mud at Robinson Woods, where Haddie enjoyed a hike that day, looked a little too inviting! I couldn’t resist photographing sleepy Haddie, while we waited for her ears to fluff up!

Adorable! You can bet that Haddie will be making several more appearances on the blog, especially once she can keep up with Orvis’s craziness.

Earlier this week I drove down to Saco for a shoot with Tootsie, a super sweet ten-year-old beagle. Later this year, Tootsie will turn eleven on 11.11.11- how fun is that? Like a lot of dogs, Tootsie has quite the distinct personality- I feel so fortunate that I was able to hang out with her for a couple of hours on a beautiful summer evening.

Thank you, Kevin & Gina, for a wonderful evening. I’m so glad I got to experience Tootsie’s “ham walk” too!
