carolina week!

Happy, happy Memorial Day, everyone!  I returned home to Maine from photographing my third North Carolina wedding this month, and needless to say, I’m super excited that I will not be traveling quite so far for weddings in the coming months.  Today was a lovely holiday- Michael, Orvis, and I spent as much time outside as possible, enjoying every minute of this beautiful day!  I’m so thankful that we had this opportunity to spend an entire day-off together, but I’m oh-so-excited to get back into the studio tomorrow and go through the photos I took this past week in Chapel Hill!

Just before I was supposed to meet Rachel & John for their engagement session on Carolina’s campus, I made sure I had time to swing by the Student Stores to take in all of the UNC paraphernalia I could.  I mean, isn’t picking up a t-shirt from your alma mater post-graduation some sort of rite of passage?  I happily found the very t-shirt I was looking for and then stumbled upon the cutest Tarheel-print Vineyard Vine boxers!  Michael already has this same print on a bow tie & a belt, so it would basically be a crime to not have the boxers too, right?

When I unpacked the boxers from my suitcase yesterday, Michael’s eyes lit up- he loved them!  Of course, I could have brought him a deck of cards with tarheels on them and he would have been just as excited . . . that’s just how much he loves Carolina.  To show my own love for UNC, I have decided to officially declare this week on the & unlimited blog “Carolina Week,” and I couldn’t be any more excited about it!  Last week I had the great pleasure of photographing two couples- one wedding & one engagement session- whose relationships started on this very campus!  Getting to see firsthand just how influential Carolina was in both of these relationships was especially meaningful for me, as UNC is the very place where I met Michael five years ago.  Needless to say, I have a bit of a soft spot for Carolina couples . . .

We incorporated an old typewriter into Rachel & John’s engagement session, but I think this picture is a good preview of what’s to come for Rachel & John’s adorable engagement shoot, and Abby & Guion’s beautiful wedding.  Check back each day this week for more “Carolina Week” blog posts!

Happy Carolina Week, everyone!
