chapel hill engagement: brooke & matt!
I crossed off a big to-do on my photography checklist last week. Most photographers have a few dream locations for shoots that are always floating around in their head. Some of mine sound fairly exotic and include me photographing a vineyard wedding in Tuscany, shooting a surfing-inspired engagement session in California or traveling to Switzerland to photograph a few big, lovable St. Bernards among the snow-covered Alps.
Last week I traveled from Maine to North Carolina to cross off one of my dream photography scenarios: taking engagement photos of two UNC college sweethearts on the insanely beautiful campus in Chapel Hill where they met. (I promise the four years I spent there did nothing to influence my opinion one bit about the absolute beauty of this place…)
Thank you, Brooke & Matt, for granting me my long-awaited wish.

These two love to laugh! I’m sure we can thank Matt for this bit of laughter.

I adore the way these two look at each other. So cute!

After hitting some of the hot spots on campus, we headed south to the Tarheels’ Kenan Stadium. They were both in their element here… reminiscing about all of the college football games they attended together in this very stadium.

No trip to UNC is complete without a visit to the Old Well!

It’s hard to describe how much fun it was walking around campus with these two, as three alumni, swapping stories about our time spent on that fantastic campus. Thank you, Brooke & Matt, for allowing me to document the two of you enjoying the very place where you fell in love! I am so looking forward to your June 19th wedding!
These are such awesome photos! Brooke and Matt make such awesome subjects- they are both incredibly good looking and you can tell how much fun they had and how much they love each other. Way to go in capturing the feel of the campus too, Mere! The light is perfect and these photos turned out really great.
There are not words enough to describe the quality of these shots. The lighting, the casual genuine connection that you achieved, the accents and of course the subjects and the setting….gosh Meredith, you nailed it!!
